The Ohio Attorney General’s Office and the Ohio Council on Economic Education encourage high school students to participate in the ninth-annual Take Action Video Contest. This special partnership seeks to raise awareness about important cybersecurity decisions students will make.

The contest officially begins Sept. 11, 2017. To participate, students (in teams of two or individually) should create a 60-second informational video on one of the following topics:

     • Privacy on your smartphone
     • Social networking scams
     • Creating strong passwords

The deadline to submit entries is December 8, 2017.

The top three winning individuals or teams of two will be announced in March 2018 during National Consumer Protection Week. College scholarships will be awarded to the top three individuals or teams of two:

     • First place: $2,500 scholarship
     • Second place: $1,500 scholarship
     • Third place: $1,000 scholarship

They may also have their videos featured on the Attorney General’s website.
