Gardening without a shovel simply means that nothing is planted in the ground. With our heavy clay soils in Southwestern Ohio, not only can this strategy be easier on your back, but it can also add many new and different design elements to your garden. Pat Stidham has been experimenting with this concept for many years and will share her gardens with you through pictures.
Speaker: Pam Bennett
This fast-paced program will help you to discover low-maintenance and easy-to-grow annuals that will add the "WOW" factor to your landscape - without a lot of work!
Speaker: Sue Ellen Campbell
Sue Ellen Campbell will show you a variety of Ohio natives and how and why they can be used to enhance your landscape. She uses examples of plants that thrive in her personal gardens and attract birds, vutterflies and bees. These plants are relatively low maintenance and generally provide long periods of color, texture and structure in the home garden. Whether your garden is a country landscape or an urban cityscape you can incorporate many of our Ohio native perennials with benefits to both people and wildlife.
Sponsored by the Warren County 4-H Committee, this event is designed to help Warren County youth who are curious about 4-H, as well as current 4-H members and their families, learn about some of the many projects available this year.
