4-H Chartering Information Available to Club Advisors

The Ohio 4-H program requires that all 4-H clubs in the State of Ohio be chartered in order to be recognized as an 'official' 4-H club.

The chartering process insures that all clubs meet the minimum requirements and also authorizes the club to use the 4-H emblem and name.  Each club will receive a Club Charter certificate and letter when their charter is approved.

The chartering process is very simple and should require a minimal amount of time.  Each club will need to complete a "4-H Chartering Checklist" and submit it with their enrollment forms.  The checklists will be reviewed by the county 4-H Charter Committee and approved.  All clubs are required to complete the checklist anually and return to the Extension office by the April 1 enrollment deadline.  All those that meet the minimum standard will be granted a charter for that 4-H year.
