2008 4-H Camp Schedule/Registration

Summer camp offers a variety of new educational experiences for youth: opportunities for self discovery and accomplishment, group living and teamwork, new friendships, new skills and plenty of just plain fun!

Teen Work Camp

Date: May 17-18
at 4-H Camp Graham, Clarksville.  Cost: $20

This camp is a great opportunity to introduce new people to 4-H Camp Graham, help prepare the camp for the summer season, and have a weekend full of fun, friendship and good times while you work. 

Camp activities will start on Saturday morning at 10:00 am  and conclude at 2:00 pm in Sunday afternoon.  Full-time participation is required.

Teens will be divided into work groups of 4-5 teens with an adult project leader.  Work groups will be assigned projects to complete for the weekend.  (Examples: making and painting directional signs; buildingf bunk beds and benches; general camp clean-up projects and repaiprs;  Trail check and improvements; and other hands-on camp improvements)

Camp is open to all teens who are currently in the 8th grade or older.

Horse Camp

Friday through Monday, June 13 - 16
at the Warren County Fairgrounds, Lebanon.  Cost: $90

Camp is limited to Warren County 4-H members, in grades 3 through 8, who are currently enrolled in a 4-H horse project.  Horse Camp is geared toward helping beginners gain riding experience and intermediate riders gain confidence by offering classes that sharpen riding skills and horse knowledge.  Horsemanship, Equitation, Gymkhana, and Trail Riding are just a few of the sessions typically offered.  There will also be a variety of other activities such as a campfire, crafts, dance and a horse show carnival.  Campers are expected to bring and be completely responsible for the care of their horse during camp.

Regisrations will be accepted on a first come, first served basis starting Tuesday, May 5.  
Limited to the first 50 registrants.
Campers must be Warren County 4-H members, in grades 3 through 8, who are currently enrolled in a 4-H horse project. 
Registration closes May 30, 2008.

ADC 2006Artist Day Camp

Monday through Friday, June 23-27
at Lebanon Presbyterian Church.  Cost: $75

This day camp is designed for young people with an interest in art techniques and principles.  Campers will be involved in new art projects each day as well as a week-long workshop they select.  Workshops offered this year will include: Mix-N-Match, Drama/Dance, Food Art, Sculpture, Awesome Accessories, and Be a “Mad” Scientist.

Registrations will be accepted from Warren County 4-H members starting Monday, May 5. 
Non-member registrations will be accepted beginning Monday, May 12.
Campers must have completed Kindergarten but not yet entered high school.
Limited to the first 40 registrants.
Registration closes June 6, 2008. 

County Camp

Sunday through Thursday, July 27-31
at 4-H Camp Graham, Clarksville.
Cost: $130 4-H Members/$140 Non-Members

Looking for a traditional camp experience complete with campfires, songs, skits, adventure hikes, swimming, canoeing, team challenges, talent show and recreation in an outdoor setting?  County Camp is the place!  In addition, campers will select a workshop to focus on for the week.  Typical workshops include: Tropics Café, Dancin’ to the Beat of the Waves, Fire Away, Surviving the Island, Island Athletics, Surf’s Up and Helping Hands.

Regisrations will be accepted from Warren County 4-H members beginning May 5. 
Non-member registrations will be accepted beginning Monday, May 12.
Limited to the first 114 registrants (50 boys, 64 girls).
Campers must have completed the third grade, but not yet attended high school.
Registration closes June 30, 2008.
