What Can Advisors Expect?
- Material for each officer describing their duties.
- We will provide advisor education meetings each year.
- Periodic newsletters.
- Information concerning county activities such as camps, safety speaking contest, demonstration contest, award opportunities for members and other pertinent information.
- Have project books available for purchase.
- Provide a list of possible speakers, tours, and community service projects.
- Provide certificates, pins and other materials to members where appropriate.
- Provide a means for members to demonstrate what they have learned and be awarded for it.
- Provide a camping experience for members who are interested.
- Conduct a recognition banquet to honor advisors and other 4-H leaders.
- Provide a source of help in answering individual questions and solving problems. (Please call on us when you need help.)
- Recruitment of members and volunteers.
- Submit newspaper articlesto provide advisors, parents, members and general public with helpful information about the 4-H program.
- Provide a system of honoring outstanding club and individual 4-H members.
- Work with 4-H committees to plan programs and set policies based on the needs of the people served.
- Provide a calendar of events for the year.
- Provide guidelines for project completion and county rules and policies regarding local and state fair participation.
- Provide a list of projects offered and a brief description of each project.
- Provide consultation with advisors upon request.
